Wanted: Mentor

As I head into shoulder surgery this morning (and will play up the Harrison Ford “Fugitive” joke: “It wasn’t me, it was the one-armed man!”), I thought this would be as good a time as any to say this:

I need a mentor. Or many mentors.

Someone who I can count on. Someone I can pick up the phone and call anytime with questions about email marketing, general marketing, and perhaps life in general. Someone who can provide me with blog fodder and support for potential business ideas.

Someone who is not family. I’m not saying I’m getting bad advice from family members; far from it. But I need the ear and voice of someone who I might be more inclined to listen to.

And I’ve debated about posting this for a while. But I think, like I said, now’s as good a time as any to get this process started.

The pay? There’s no monetary payment (unless we end up starting a venture together). Just the pure, awesome satisfaction of helping a young professional truly finding his way in the world.

As I mentioned, my shoulder surgery will knock me out of commission for the most part for the next 6 weeks or so. So blogging here may be a bit sparse. My apologies in advance, but I need to take care of this torn muscle issue once and for all.

I hope to have at least a couple more Email Snob interviews done in the next few weeks, and we’ll see from there.
